A classic duffle coat in a heavy weight wool. The duffle shape is generous, with a loose fit, offering comfortable room for layering over knitwear. Appliqué detailing across the upper body lends a traditional finish alongside the horn toggles and leather loops. An internal zip fastening secures the duffle coat for warmth.
Flapped patch pockets provide practical storage, with a further button-fastened patch pocket inside. Button-fastening cuff tabs for adjustment at the wrists, and internal neck tape stop the cold northern winds. They also add detailing to this practical garment.
Made from a wool-rich blend of 70% wool, 25% polyamide and 5% other fibres. Length: 98.5 cm (approximately 38¾ inches).
The simple yet distinctive aesthetic has led the garment to become a classic, outlasting the wearer and passing from father to son. Wearing the duffle coat in the countryside or city's edge you'll feel the same appreciation as all those who have worn one before you.
Saint James Clothing was born in 1889 in the town of its namesake, located a few miles from the sea, and close to Mont Saint-Michel in Southern Normandy. The Saint James story began when the Legallais family started to spin and dye the local wool and sell the skeins and wool balls to the shops of Brittany and Normandy, later spinning the wool into shirts for the fishermen. Leon Legallais, the then mayor of Saint-James transformed this workshop into a large industry and in 1929 the company went public.
