Espadrilles in navy blue - a classic, cool and comfortable shoe for the warmer months. These cotton canvas espadrilles have a sturdy and flexible rubber sole and a soft rope inner. The toe piece has extra stitching.

Espadrilles are one of the oldest forms of footwear. A pair of rope soled shoes was found in a cave in the Basque country dating back over 3000 years. A testimony to their simple, enduring design. Espadrilles are an environmentally form of footwear made of natural materials (canvas, rope and rubber). When you are finished with the espadrilles remove the canvas and rope and compost these parts, recycle the rubber.

Saint James Clothing was born in 1889 in the town of its namesake, located a few miles from the sea, and close to Mont Saint-Michel in Southern Normandy. The Saint James story began when the Legallais family started to spin and dye the local wool and sell the skeins and wool balls to the shops of Brittany and Normandy, later spinning the wool into shirts for the fishermen. Leon Legallais, the then mayor or Saint-James transformed this workshop into a large industry and in 1929 the company went public.
