Fishtail-back corduroy trousers, high waisted and generously cut. The corduroy is a heavy weight material at 410 grams per metre, and only improves with age. We are one of the few clothing companies in the UK who still provide trousers with the fine detailing of the high waist and the fishtail-back. The classic feature of the fishtail-back lends itself to button-on braces, allowing the trouser to hang perfectly. Alternatively the trousers can be worn with a belt.
Tails and the Unexpected's fishtail trousers have a button fly, a french bearer and a single forward pleat on each side. The unfinished leg allows you to have them pinned and hemmed to the perfect length. These high waisted cotton drill trousers are of a style reminiscent of the superb tailoring of the first half of the 20th century (1920s - 1950s), when trousers moved well and were of an excellent, durable quality. They are also making a comeback amongst the moustachioed art students who style them with braces and roll them up above the ankle.
Tails and the Unexpected, proudly making trousers in the UK since 1979.
