The sou'wester is an infinitely practical fishing hat that has stood the test of generations of European fishermen. It is an exceedingly well made hat with a double skin, strong stitching and a good lining. The cross seam, toggle strap and a full lining makes for a comfortable fit. The brim of the sou-wester is designed to be upturned and to work as guttering - diverting the rainwater around your head. The tough polyester, Teflon-coated exterior and PVC-coated interior make the sou'wester completely waterproof. As the Guy Cotten manifesto reads, 'the conquering of the seas started on the docks of fishing harbours'.
