Founded in 1979 by Welshman Mark Williams, Tails and the Unexpected began life as a small vintage clothing enterprise situated in Jacob's, an antiques centre in the heart of Cardiff.
The years have passed, and time has gifted Mark with a profound knowledge of tailoring and an eye for quality; an eye which today allows him to recognise British manufacturers of the finest quality, and that has allowed the evolution of Tails and the Unexpected into a supplier of exceptional British and European clothing.
Mark's wife Pauline has been a cornerstone of Tails and the Unexpected for many years. Pauline is an up and coming Welsh artist, member of VOGA and the Cardiff Drawing Group, see her work at www.paulinewilliamsart.co.uk. Her eye for the aesthetic has played an important role in shaping the business. If you're lucky, you may even receive some of your goods wrapped in an old watercolour painting!
